Datadog integration

What syncs

Request volume, p95 latency, response status, region, deployment version, and selected runtime metrics.

Setup

Create a Datadog API key with the minimum metrics-ingest permission and add it to the Apex monitoring integration.

Security

Store the key as a secret and restrict it to the intended Datadog site and account.

Operations

Dashboard by deployment and region so a release can be compared against the previous version instead of only the global aggregate.

Recommended workflow

• Keep the integration credential in a dedicated secret scope.
• Start in a non-production environment and verify the event flow.
• Document ownership so connector failures have a clear operational owner.
